Five Months
Loves: Putting everything in her mouth, especially her toes. Rolling around like a rolly-polly. Jumparoo! Raspberries!!! Rides in the stroller.
Dislikes: Laying down - she would rather try to sit up or stand like a big kid.
Every day it feels like we see her do something new that we hadn’t seen before. She is rarely laying on her back any more. She’s always rolling, twisting, kicking, jumping in her jumparoo, reaching, trying to push up on her elbows. She can now roll both ways! Back to front and front to back. We often find her on her tummy in her crib in the morning, even though we always lay her down on her back! And she’s usually turned the opposite direction as well. She’s really interested in interacting with the world around her. When I pick her up from her crib, and we walk out of her room, her arms are outstretched the whole way, reaching out for something to touch, feel, grasp, and put in her mouth. When she hears new sounds, she will turn her head curiously in the direction they came from. She seems to be understanding more of the world around her. When she’s hungry, she likes to be in the kitchen and watch her bottle being made. It usually comforts her just to watch, but sometimes she’s just too hungry. She likes to watch Sadie come in and out of the room. She is also “exploring” her voice these days. She likes to use it, and loudly. She has the best expressions, and I always wonder what is running through that little mind of hers! I have a feeling we won’t be wondering much longer!
