Four Months
Loves: Putting her hands in her mouth; Kicking; Smiling and
laughing; The monkey mirror that faces her car seat. Sucking her thumb.
Dislikes: Tummy time; Evening time - so tired and fussy by
the end of the day… we call it “The Witching Hour”
13 weeks: Reaching out for faces, and grabbing daddy’s beard
14 weeks: Rolled over for the first time!!!! Tummy to back
(to the left). She never even acted like she wanted to before, so it took me by
surprise! So glad I got to see it!
15 weeks: Rolled from tummy to back in both directions, left
and right. Batting her hands at things. Putting her hands together and watching
her fingers fold over each other. Reaching and trying to grab toys held in
front of her. Delicately intent on trying to wrap her fingers to grab smaller
items like links. Bringing toys up to her mouth. Mesmerized by her feet -
Grabbing her toes. Taking more notice of Sadie. Sucking her thumb! Prefers
right thumb
16 weeks: Sitting up in her bumbo. Putting all toys in her
mouth.
18 weeks: Giggle fits… just keep going!! Really babbling;
Reaching out to pet Sadie when she’s next to her. Reaches for the bottle and
directs the bottle closer. Swaddle with one arm out. Likes to reach & hold
crib rail. Rolling to her side and crunching up her legs.
19 weeks: Reaching out for bottle with 2 hands, and pulling
to her mouth while we hold it. Sleeping unswaddled. Loooves her thumb… Both,
but right more than left. ALMOST rolled back to front. Brings her foot to her mouth (ew! but also
funny!).
She is changing so fast! Literally every day she is doing
something new! It is so fun to watch her explore new ways to move, and learn
that she can interact with the world around her. The milestones are so
exciting! I know that I will not be there for all of them, but I'm so glad I
got to see her roll over for the first time! I couldn't believe my eyes! She is generally quite cheerful... until the
evening time. She has a miserable and cranky period in the evening. Usually her
bath time is a small pick-me-up for her, because she loves baths so much, but
even so, she sometimes is just too cranky to enjoy it. And definitely hates
when it's over. We are hoping that it's just a phase she will grow out of
quickly!! She has also started waking up
from her naps after only 30-45 minutes! We have started really trying to rush
after putting her down to try to accomplish as much as we can while she sleeps!
We are also hoping this phase will be outgrown soon!! But at the same time, I
want time to stand still sometimes, while I just soak up the moments when we
snuggle or laugh or smile or kick and giggle.
