She's TWO!!!

How is our daughter 2 years old?? We are so amazed by her sweet happy spirit. She is generally pretty smiley, and likes to laugh. She’s talking and singing almost all of the time. She likes to narrate just about everything that is going on. She has the most adorable little toddler run and has also started trying to jump! She’ll lean over with her arms back and wind up and everything. So cute to watch. She enjoys taking walks and playing at the park and the pool. She always asks to go on the patio. She loooves being outside.

She likes to draw a lot. She’ll spend a good half hour at a time just drawing away in her little composition book. She seems to prefer when someone is drawing next to her though, so she can dictate what they are drawing - and what color - as well :) She practices drawing circles over and over, and she has started “stacking” them and calling it a snowman!

She continues to loooove reading books, and when we get a new one, she usually has it just about memorized in a matter of days! It’s astonishing how quickly she absorbs things!! She knows the words to lots of kids songs and nursery rhymes, and will also sing along with “real” songs that Dusty has put on a playlist for her. Her favorite is "Yellow Submarine". One of my favorite things is listening to her sing songs to herself in the crib after bedtime.

She knows her colors and a few shapes, and I’ve heard her count to 10 correctly … but usually there’s a 6 or 7 left out :)

She’s been talking in longer sentences. Like “Sadie is coming over to see Olivia”. And often she phrases them the way she would expect you to say them to her - usually in question form. So she says “Want Mommy to carry you?” when she means “I want Mommy to carry me” (not a question haha)

Common Phrases: “That was fun”, “I don’t like that”, “That’s pretty cool”, “It’s Olivia!”, “Want to go to grandma’s house/ the patio/ the pool/ the park”, “Where’s Daddy?” “It’s a lawn-mower”

My Favorite Mispronunciations:

  • “Gabetty” = Spaghetti (also “Uh-oh, ga-betty-os)
  • “Sweet Pota-bo” = Sweet Potato
  • “Sum-barine” = Submarine
  • “Mansanya” = Lasagna
  • “Ann-dabelle” = Annabelle
  • “Weed-eat-eater” = Weed eater
  • “Ligging Room” = Living Room

I hope I somehow remember each and every one of these days she is two, because they are flying by already!!
