35 Weeks - Baby Basics Class

We had a Baby Basics Class this week, where we learned about soothing techniques for newborns, how to change a diaper, how to bathe a newborn, how to swaddle, etc. It was an interactive type class, so we got to practice on little baby like dolls as we went along. Of course, they aren't squirming or protesting anything, so I'm sure it will be much different when we are actually trying to swaddle our own squirmy peanut!

Dusty is burping the baby doll he swaddled. I think he did a good job! ;)

More progress in the Nursery

Dusty worked hard to remodel the nursery closet. It originally had just one wire shelf in it. He removed that shelf, and installed some adjustable shelving one side of the closet, with a bookcase type shelf on the other side. It turned out so good! Such a great help with organizing!

Dusty also painted the bookshelf for the children's library, and we are so happy to see the shelves are already starting to fill up! We've been going to Half Price Books and raiding the children's clearance section for quite some time now. It's so fun to find some books still in pretty good condition for 50 cents or a dollar! My mom also brought several boxes of books with her from TX. She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years, and had quite the collection herself! It's a blessing to inherit such a wide collection!
